Kara McClure has a general practice in a variety of areas, including that as a trial attorney in Iowa.  These areas include commercial and business litigation, contract disputes, family law, personal injury, probate, and general litigation.  In the area of commercial litigation and business law in Des Moines and Iowa, and as a personal injury attorney in Des Moines, Kara represents both plaintiffs and defendants.  In the family law area, Kara advises clients on matters including divorce and dissolution of marriage concerns; child custody, visitation, and support issues; and post-decree compliance, enforcement, and modifications.

Kara is active in the state and local bar associations and in the Des Moines area community. She is an avid Iowa State University fan and volunteers as an alumna.   She serves on the Iowa State Bar Association Young Lawyers Professional Development Committee, planning an annual CLE for newly admitted attorneys and monthly telephone CLEs.  Kara volunteers at the Polk County Bar Association monthly HOLA clinic in Des Moines. She is active with the Everybody Wins Iowa! organization as a volunteer reader at a local pre-school.  Kara’s family law practice includes representing clients with divorce and dissolution of marriage concerns; child custody, visitation, and support issues; and post-decree compliance, enforcement, and modifications.
