Since 1978,  Barry Russell has been involved in a general trial practice.  Though his practice has primarily involved his representation of clients as a trial attorney in Iowa, he has been active in federal and state courts throughout the Midwest.  He more recently has been particularly active as a personal injury attorney in Des Moines and in Iowa in defective or dangerous product litigation involving fires, explosions, and burn injury. Barry has also represented clients in burn injury cases in Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri.  In his work as a burn injury lawyer in Iowa, he has developed an expertise with respect to the Consumer Product Safety Act and the Federal Hazardous Substance Act.  He has developed the relationships necessary with nationally renowned experts to pursue this type of complex litigation.

As a personal injury attorney in Des Moines, Barry has also represented clients in numerous closed head injury and wrongful death cases over the last ten years. He also continues to be active as an insurance lawyer in Iowa.  In addition to motor vehicle cases, Barry advocates for clients in bad faith litigation.

Barry is a member of national, state, and local bar associations.  He has earned an “AV” rating from his peers in Martindale-Hubbell, a professional designation of high legal ability and a very high adherence to the professional standards of conduct and ethics.
