After practicing law in Chicago, Tom Hanson returned to Des Moines in 1975 to become the senior partner in Hanson, Bjork & Russell, L.L.P. He has been one of the most active trial lawyers in Des Moines over the last 30 years, litigating civil and criminal cases in state and federal court. As an insurance lawyer in Iowa, Tom served as president of the Iowa Defense Counsel Association. As a trial attorney in Iowa, he represents clients in complex litigation. With his experience in the practice of business law in Des Moines and in Iowa, Tom has more recently become particularly involved in representing corporations, boards, and corporate officers in business transactions, disputes, lawsuits, and white-collar crime proceedings. Tom has earned an “AV” rating from his peers in Martindale-Hubbell, a professional designation of high legal ability and a very high adherence to the professional standards of conduct and ethics.
